The launch of Amstrad’s Em@iler emailing and telephone product is said to have pushed the company into the red despite expectations that it would change the company’s fortunes for the better. The company reported a pre-tax loss of £1.79 million, down from a profit of £960,000 last year. Sales dropped from £60.9 million to £39.7 million.
