For the first time ever, BT has appointed a director of indirect channels. The company says the new position, taken up by Mark Hollister, has been created in recognition of the growth of its channel business. Hollister brings to BT extensive experience in strategy and development of direct and indirect sales channels. He has worked with names such as 3Com, HP, Cable & Wireless and TeleSystem International Wireless. He takes on his new role from 1 April, ensuring a seamless transition with the departing general manager John Thornill.
Ray Smith, managing director of BT Alternative Channels, comments: "Mark's experience throughout both the voice and data arenas will be a huge strength in leading Indirect Channels. He's taking on a business that is already a leader in the channel with a superb reputation, he has the remit and the capabilities to take it to even greater heights."
