Centrica Business Services is targeting the small to medium sized business (SME) market with a new telephony package that it says offers the lowest landline call rates of any telecoms company through its One.Tel brand.
Peak and off-peak calls are 1.99 pence per minute and there is a single, uniform rate for landline calls to all mobiles of 14.9 pence per minute. Low rates on International calls include USA, Germany, Austria and Belgium at 2.6 pence per minute. The offering has no minimum spend requirements.
Justin Henderson, marketing director for Centrica Business Services, says: "One.Tel is a key challenger to BT in the SME market and when you compare our offer with BT's Business Plan, it's easy to see why. On the face of it, BT's 10p for up to an hour's call may seem an attractive prospect. BT charges 2p set-up charge per call - and with only 3% of business calls lasting up to an hour and average business calls lasting just 3 minutes, One.Tel is much cheaper for average length calls."
