Office Depot has announced a new merchandising initiative called Ink Depot, which it says is designed to provide the best shopping experience for customers buying ink, toner and fax supplies.
"Although many retailers sell ink and toner supplies, no one else has dedicated the space, the staff and the technology to the extent that we have this year," says Dave D'Arezzo, executive vice president of merchandising and replenishment. He says there are a number of areas where Office Depot is differentiating itself, including a corralled shop at the front of the store, a web-enabled reference kiosk and a cartridge recycling area.
Ink Depot will be installed in all North American stores by the end of May.
