Few companies likely to meet egovernment initiatives
The Nordic countries are now leading Western Europe in their take up of eGovernment initiatives according to the latest report from research company IDC. Spending on IT services in the public sector is expected to rise 16% from the $2.9 billion spent in 2002 to $5.8 billion in 2007. Denmark is the leading country in terms of its willingness and readiness to embrace the availability of eGovernment services.
There is an eEurope Action Plan which states that all government services should be available online by 2005 but few countries are expected to achieve it.
