Tony Rowe, managing director of voice and data specialist South West Communications Group, recently completed a 3,340 mile journey by motorbike from Nairobi in Kenya to Cairo in Egypt to raise funds for charity. He was accompanied by six other fund raisers also making the trip on BMW 650cc bikes. The journey passing through Ethiopia and Sudan, which took nearly a month, formed the second leg of a marathon journey from Cape Town to Cairo covering the whole of Africa.
One of the sponsors of the trip was Toshiba Business Communications with funds raised by the riders going to charitable causes. Two charities, Vranch House and SureStart, will benefit from the money raised by Tony Rowe. Both have operations close to South West Communications head office in Exeter.
