BIC's Cristal ballpoint pen has been chosen by the public as the best example of design for less than £10 at an exhibition at The Design Museum called 'Under a Tenner - What is Good Design?' The contents of the exhibition which runs until 27 February 2005, were chosen by a panel of distinguished designers from around the globe and visitors to the exhibition were also asked for their nominations of what is good design.
BIC's Emma Lawley says: "When the founder of BIC, Marcel Bich, obtained the patent rights to a ball-pen invented by Ladislas Biro in 1950, perhaps even he hadn’t envisaged the impact that his vision to create an affordable but reliable ball point pen would continue to have more than 50 years later."
