One Stop Office Solutions has issued an alert about a recent EOS scam that one of its customers encountered. This week the company received an urgent order for 280 HP51645As from an established IT customer. It assumed the order was for one of the customer’s clients in the City.
On querying the volume and the urgency of the order, which requested pre-9am delivery, it was discovered that it had been placed by an unregistered pay as you go T-Mobile phone and was for a start up company. Delivery had been requested to an SE18 address in London. A cheque in a different name was offered to the courier and was then changed to a bankers draft when requested.
The end client refused to send over a copy or to meet One Stop’s customer to make payment.
