US wholesaler United Stationers has reported lower sales and profit for its fourth quarter. Net income was $1.4 million, compared with $19.5 million a year ago, and net sales were down 1.4% to $923.4 million. Earnings were impacted by a restructuring charge of $8.9 million while sales were down due to the weak economy and continued competitive pressures.
