Interactive Products has appointed Gill Merrey to the role of project manager responsible for the development of the New Progress system. Merrey has been with IP for three years, having first been involved on the Advance system before moving to the Progress project last year.
Following a number of changes within the ECI Group, IP’s parent company, all software development is being co-ordinated across the group under the overall leadership of Chris Scatliff, executive vice-president (development) who is based in Washington. The New Progress Windows based system, which has been under development for some years, is now seen as the basis for the long-term replacement for all of the main back office systems in the group.
Gill Merrey has been put in charge of this project and leads an international team including developers in Cambridge, Washington and Dallas.
Managing director Ron Wotherspoon comments: “Writing a replacement to a flagship system like Progress would be a daunting task for anyone. I know that Gill is up to the task. She has the experience and determination as well as an excellent team around her on both sides of the Atlantic. I am proud that the IP Development team has taken leadership of this project for the whole of the ECI Group.”
