BT Retail is to trial new 2Mb consumer broadband services that are four times the speed of its standard broadband with a possible new year launch. It will co-incide with the launch of a trial by BT Wholesale of its new BT IP Stream Home 2000 service.
The company says the eight week trial which starts on 29 November is part of its ongoing commitment to deliver more to its broadband customers by providing more choice. Gavin Patterson, group managing director, consumer and ventures division, says: "We are aware that our customers often have very different needs. To that end we are continuously reassessing our product offerings and investing in finding new opportunities."
