Brother has been awarded the Good Shopping Guide's ethical award for 2003. The guide aims to help consumers make informed decisions about which consumer brands are the most ethical. Brother's fax manufacturing scored highly in all categories and it was one of only three manufacturers in the fax industry to receive the award.
The Good Shopping Guide’s research amalgamates the results of all the ECRA (Ethical Consumer Research Association) categories into three broad groups: the environment, animals and people. These categories are then sub-divided further to focus on specific issues that can include anything from environmental reporting and animal testing to irresponsible marketing.
