Office Depot vice chairman Irwin Helford is planning to reduce his holdings in the company through the sale of around 200,000 shares per quarter. Previously chairman and chief executive of Viking Office Products, Helford holds around 3.1 million shares of Office Depot stock, much of which was acquired in August 1998 when the two companies merged.
Helford is semi-retired from Office Depot and acts as a senior adviser to the company, particularly to the Viking domestic mail order operations.
