The Austrian Tilly Group, a company that specialises in wood processing and the wood industry, is to set up a sawmill with a planned annual capacity of 500,000 m3 in Syktyvkar immediately adjacent to the Neusiedler Syktyvkar plant. The total investment volume is around USD 30 million and it will be possible to double capacity in the future. The plant should start operations in summer 2006.
Tilly and Neusiedler Syktyvkar (NSY) will work closely with each other. The sawmill will supply cut wood for pulp production and wood shavings and bark for use in the NSY bark boiler, in return the NSY Tilly wood plants will receive saw wood. Tilly also plans to set up a processing plant to produce natural wood boards. As part of this cooperation NSY will also hold 15% of the shares in the new company.
