Installation Enginner
Position Overview
The role of installation engineer requires you to personally take full responsibility for the installation engineer function for a range of clients. The role requires a combination of installation of two way radio communication, mobile phone devices and vehicle tracking equipment. You will also be required to deal directly with our customers on a face-to-face basis. Role Objectives Within Three Months
- Capture a basic understanding and appreciation of the role requirements and the business expectations of this position.
- Establish an appreciation for the internal working practices of the business. I.e. Main suppliers, our purchase and sales order process, internal administration functions.
- Obtain an appreciation of customer base and their general expectations.
Within Six Months
- Establish and be reasonably confident with the installation engineer position.
- Accomplish basic requirement in order to be viewed as an effective, reliable and competent member of the engineering team.
- Build upon existing knowledge base, with a view to expanding role towards Service Engineering function.
- Outline training requirements in order for the above to take place.
Within Nine Months
- Demonstrate an ability to carry out fault diagnosis (although not fully repair) whilst working in a Service Engineer capacity.
- Provide working evidence of an appreciation for common faults reported by customers.
Within Twelve Months
- Demonstrate you are a fully competent and reliable engineer within the team.
- Move confidently with a degree of independence between the Installation and Service Engineer functions.
Essential Requirements We require applicants who are able to demonstrate a proven track record, ideally within a similar function. However, a background in communication/engineer function showing transferable skills would be viewed as advantageous. A full UK driving licence is essential. Applicants will be expected to, from the outset, show a professional and methodical approach to their workload. As this role requires an interface with software packages we would expect at least a working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
